THE LIVES OF OTHERS
this is not the kind of movie i usually see. especially not in the theaters. don’t misunderstand me, though. this is exactly the kind of movie i love. just for some reason, often, someone has to force me to actually sit down and watch. maybe because i know that it will be sad, or unnerving, or color my life in dark tones for awhile. these aren’t things that one usually looks forward to.
and yet. there is something about that experience - that moment when you are profoundly… touched, doesn’t seem enough, does it? i mean, it’s like someone is reaching inside you, cracking your ribcage, bruising your guts, and clenching your heart.
well. it can be more subtle than that. but this one isn’t. this one hurts. but it hurts good.
it isn’t streaming but it’s worth the rent.
^That is exactly how I feel about some movies.
